Personal Finance
Delinia grew up in Kentucky and has always loved music and math. She played piano and flute as a child and continues to play flute in her church’s orchestra. Her first recollection of math was doing it on tissues when her grandfather was babysitting her and couldn’t find paper, and one of her grade school nicknames was “Calculator." One of her favorite things to do as a child was dump her grandparents’ coin jar onto the carpet and count the money. She remembers opening a bank account as a little girl and recording her transactions in a little brown book. You can say she has definitely always been interested in numbers. Delinia attended Western Kentucky University where she received a bachelor of science degree in Accounting. She worked at Deloitte and Touche accounting firm and later received her CPA license. Delinia’s parents taught her the value of a dollar and how to handle her money wisely, and her goal is to challenge her students to be wise with their money and to not be in financial bondage during their lifetime. She has been a homeschool mom for 16 years and is looking forward with great expectation to this new empty nest season. She has been married to her husband (and best friend) Alan for 29 years and has 3 amazing kids (Paige, Faith, and Joshua) who have all attended The Academy Tutorial.
